Reinhold Messner called his journey to the North Pole, a horizontal Everest - easily one of the most difficult expeditions on the planet. Join experienced polar guide Eric Larsen for the journey of a lifetime. With a small team, you will ski across the shifting sea ice and open water of the Arctic Ocean. Team members will learn and refine the necessary skills and techniques required to travel safely and comfortably in one of the most extreme environments on the planet. Please note: due to the extreme nature of this journey, participants will be required to complete a comprehensive a pplication. Team members will also be required to attend a week-long training session in January.
North Pole - Full Expedition
Location: Cape Discovery, Ellesmere Island to Geographic North Pole, Depart from Resolute, Canada
Dates: Feb 20 - May 4 (plus January Training)
The team will meet in Resolute, Canada for after a completing a thorough training program. Gear check and food pack will happen prior to meeting in Resolute. We will spend a few days acclimatizing to the arctic cold and humidity before flying to northern Ellesmere Island to begin our adventure to the North Pole. We will have a comprehensive logistics and safety network to support our journey and will receive 2-3 resupplies along the way. Depending on the group's abilities and snow and ice conditions, this trip will take around 55 days. It is important to note that this is a very difficult journey in extreme cold and participants will be required to help in all aspects of travel and camp set up.

North Pole - Last Degree
Location: 89th parallel to the Geographic North Pole (Depart from Svalbard, Norway)
Dates: March 25 to April 10 (est.)
The Last Degree trip is a great way to experience an expedition to the North Pole but without being gone for two months. On this journey, we will ski the last 60 nautical miles to the Geographic North Pole. The team will meet on the Norwegian Island of Svalbard for an introduction and gear check. We will also participate in an overnight training trip to familiarize the group with they systems and safety necessary for traveling on the Arctic Ocean. There, we will also prepare meals and wait for a weather window for the flight to the Russian ice station, Borneo. We will then fly to the 89th parallel to begin our journey 8-12 day journey to the North Pole! It is important to note that the Arctic Ocean is an unstable body of moving ice and water. Depending on the winds and ocean currents, the team will have to cross a variety of shifting ice, thin ice and even open water.
