Saratoga REI

In Boulder today. Cranking on work. Not trying to think about being out of high school for 20 years (my reunion is this weekend). I'm busy as usual, but am enjoying the warm 'shorts' weather. Winter is around the corner for sure so I'll take whatever I can get for sure!
I signed up for a 10 kilometer trail run a few weeks ago in the hopes that it might get me running a bit more. At the time, I was in great shape and thought that the race might be a fun way to really push myself - especially since the course would reach to nearly 10,000 feet in elevation. Then, I left for England, Salt Lake and eventually San Francisco. I had been in really great shape - especially after Denali. So with two weeks of spotty workouts and thousands of air miles, I drove up to Eldora and hoped to avoid a potential heart attack and pulmonary edema.
In the end, sheer will, stubbornness, some skill at running down steep trails and luck in the fact that the course wasn't 100 meters longer prevailed and I actually ran fairly well. Of course, my legs are still sore. But hey, an ounce of pleasure is worth a pound of pain right?
Sunday evening was spent in the cutting room working with Media Bound Production's Nick Topka on Save the Poles documentary.
Now it's Tuesday. Yikes! So, I thought it might be a great day to wrap up my California trip. While it's definitely nice to be away from California traffic, I met a lot of nice people during my three REI Save the Poles presentations in the Bay Area. Special thanks go to the REI coordinators Polly Bolling, Amber Hoffmann, Sage Wike-Brown and Shawn Nelson.
Special thanks go to the entire crew at Sierra Designs for providing me with such excellent gear and equipment, help in getting to California and for being such great friends. Special kudos go to Sue Edmiston!
In honor of all the great people I met in California and a wonderful partnership with Sierra Designs, I thought I'd post this video. Enjoy!
